↠ THE CHARACTER
Name | Alias: Sora
Journal: consocius
Age: 16 (Some wikis say 15 for some reason, but taking into account he spent nearly a year in Namine's pod, that doesn't really make sense. I go by 14 in KH1, 15 in Chain of Memories, and 16 by the end of KH2 and into Dream Drop) I also plan on him having a birthday while in game, in which case he'll turn 17
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Canon point: At the end of Dream Drop Distance, just after he leaves the Mysterious Tower.
History: A wiki link.

Personality:

Sora's personality could be described as somewhat simple or naive. He's mostly carefree, trusting, optimistic, idealistic, and he follows his heart. His friends are most important to him, they are his life. But this includes new friends as well as old, and he can make new friends quite easily as he likes to help and do what's right. This often leads to him saving people when they're in trouble or helping them out with whatever problem or situation they're in. He has, at times, ignored rules in order to do this (such as when he rushes in to Alice's aid despite Goofy and Donald telling him that meddling is not allowed) and he would do so again. People are more important than rules to him.

He has a simplistic charisma that seems to draw people in, likely because he's just very honest and sincere in everything he does, genuine. He's kind and has a very open heart, to the point that, sometimes even without his knowledge, he's let multiple people "reside" there, to keep them safe, to give them sanctuary. The way Sora is talked about by DiZ implies that this is his special gift, letting people into his heart without question and the fact that it hasn't broken him; his heart is strong, resilient. Another way they talk about this is discussing his heart being "connected" with a lot of people.

As heroic and pure as Sora really is, he has flaws like everyone else. While he takes his role and given quests seriously enough, he has a tendency to get side-tracked by things, often by helping people he's just met, or sometimes things that are just fun. Due to his strong sense of justice, he often meddles in things that don't concern him, which can be both a positive and a negative thing, depending on how receptive people are to him helping. He also tends not to think too hard on things he doesn't understand, but sort of accepts them at face value and puts his optimistic/idealistic spin on it. This, again, has in effect been both a negative and a positive thing, and is really the source of his own simple, if a bit cheesy/sappy, wisdom. His fearlessness and bravery, too, can have downsides, as they often lead to him rushing into things to save other people without a second thought as to his own safety. He puts the safety of other people before his own.

Another thing mentioned as being special about Sora in the series is that he sees the good in people before the bad. This makes him very trusting and forgiving, and can even be perceived as him being very naive, especially in a universe that is potentially more malicious than the Kingdom Hearts universe. However, in the Kingdom Hearts universe it often results in bringing the good that he sees out in people, even when they don't think it's in them. This could be something also caused by the simplistic charisma he's got going for him. Sora sees such good in them that some have almost felt like they must have that in them, or show that in themselves, because he sees it and believes in them.

There's an interesting contradictory thing about Sora too, in that he can be completely oblivious to things sometimes, or incredibly observant, and it can be difficult to discern when or why he'll be one or the other. From my experience reviewing canon and also through playing him, I've pinned this down to him being oblivious to other people's feelings when they're about him, but observant when they're about other things or other people. He can see the way other people love one another, and sometimes even points it out when they don't realize it's there, but he doesn't seem to take notice, at least not consciously, of the way people love him. There are also of course plenty of things he doesn't understand yet, and doesn't bother thinking too much about either, which can come off as obliviousness. Mostly he just doesn't bother thinking too hard when he can just follow his heart instead!

For the most part, Sora is fairly simple. His emotions are easily read, and the only time he'll try to hide anything is for the sake of not worrying or hurting other people, otherwise he's not really afraid of letting himself feel his emotions, and will even let himself cry in front of others if the emotion hits him. His likes outweigh his dislikes, the only major thing that gets someone on his bad side being injustice. Even then, he's quick to forgive when remorse is shown. The only ones ever deemed as "enemies" for him would be the villains of the series and those who attack him first or target his friends. He treats them with suspicion but even more than that with sass and snark. Because, again, no fear for his own safety. However, he has given in before when his friends have been threatened, specifically the ones he holds closest to his heart like Riku and Kairi or Donald and Goofy.

Specifically in regards to Lagunbiru, Sora is likely to take the whole kink bingo thing as a genuine game, not life threatening or too serious at all, except he will want to eventually get home and help others get back to their places too (so maybe more like a mission than a game). He'll be a virgin coming onto the station, but not unaware of what sex is, or new at all to experiencing arousal (he is a teenager, after all). He'll want to help people, and be interested in figuring out ways to do that, so he'll be receptive to learning, though likely a bit embarrassed about all of it too since it's all new and not a subject often broached for him. He's likely to be panromantic and pansexual, though I don't think complete anonymity will appeal to him: he'll want to be friends first. However, with Sora, being friends comes quickly, if he meets someone and no outright intense arguments or fighting is had, then he'll already consider them his friend. Likely he'll be more open to doing things with those around his age, but will be open to learning from those who are older.

Overall, Sora just enjoys laughter and fun and friends, and being silly whenever possible. His motivations aren't hard to figure out!

Abilities and Nerfs:
All of Sora's magical and physical abilities are taken from Kingdom Hearts 2 and not Dream Drop Distance, as DDD actually takes place in the sleeping worlds, and that's why the mechanics are different (and why Sora looks younger). Sora is awake again, so game mechanics revert back to how they worked in Kingdom Hearts 2.

First things first, there are his spells:
- Fire, Fira, Firaga
- Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga
- Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga
- Cure, Cura, Curaga
- Magnet, Magnera, Magnega
- Reflect, Reflera, Reflega

Edited to add: As per agreement upon acceptance, Sora has one hour of cooldown period after casting any spell.

Sora's a good boy and likely won't really be trying to fight anyone or destroy any property, but I'm obviously willing to nerf or take away the aforementioned spells (or any other powers) if need be. One thing that will definitely be nerfed/taken away is his ability to lock/unlock things with the Keyblade: worlds, doors, etc.

Another ability he has is changing into different Forms through the use of his enchanted clothes, mentioned in Inventory section below. (Without Goofy and Donald, this is limited to Master and Final form, possibly Anti as well by accident.) I don't see any reason for me to use this except maybe for some fun primal-ish shenanigans if he goes Anti-Sora. I'm okay with this being nerfed or taken away as well.

Sora has the ability to summon his Keyblade no matter what world he's in. It will appear in his hand in a flash of light (or mouth if he has no hands, as it does when he's a lion cub in the Pride Lands) and will disappear the same way by will when he doesn't need it. If another person tries to take it, it will come back to Sora, it's chosen wielder. (This is the only real power that I would rather not have taken away if we can help it, as it's become very much a part of him. If we need this to be nerfed just to be sure he doesn't use it to harm anyone, having it so that it magically disappears from his hand if he tries to use it as a weapon against anyone might be a good way to do that?)

Sora is skilled in fighting with this weapon though he's primarily self-taught. Experience has lead to him gaining multiple abilities, both physical and magical.

He appears to be extremely agile in battle, and once climbed a skyscraper by running the length of it sideways in The World That Never Was, as well as performing several other acrobatic moves in different boss battles through use of the Reaction command. Also notable are his High Jump ability and his Glide ability, the latter allowing him to "fly" in a way that's pretty much hang-gliding without needing the actual hang-glider. (So really it's more falling with style than flying!)

Inventory:
- His Keyblade, as mentioned above. It likely wouldn't fit in a duffel bag, admittedly, but please consider that in every world he's been in, he's been able to call his Keyblade to him out of thin air, so its size may not really matter?
- Keychains that have the ability to change the appearance of his Keyblade, sometimes with special effects like upping luck or critical hits. List of KH2 keyblade transformations through keychains.
- His magic clothes obtained from and enchanted by Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather in KH2. This allows him to draw power from his friends to take on a Form in battle, as mentioned above I'm okay with this power being taken away.

Appearance: One Two
Five Desires:
1) Sending messages out to his friends, even if he has no guarantee they'll get it and won't hear back from them.
2) Fast and fun things? Think: skateboards, roller-blades, bikes or motorbikes. Things a likely stereotypical teenage boy would think are "cool." This can also include vouchers for doing these things or whatever.
3) Gifts that he can give to friends? If he finds out what other people like or want, the ability to get some of those items for them.
4) Trips to the "beach" or "sea" (VR is an acceptable substitute).
5) Honestly he has passing whims sometimes, like seeing or passing by something shiny and cool can result in an "ooh, I want to have that" feeling, and he'll try to work for it.
Samples:
Sora with Rocket and Rika on the Halloween Town TDM
Sora with Snow White on the HT TDM
IS-version of Sora (basically the same minus a lot of memories) in his dreamscape
IS!Sora with Usagi/"Serena"
I just snagged these from another app, but if different samples are needed, I can provide them.
