Personality: Sora is the type of person who sees the good in others before he sees the bad. He's kind and very forgiving, generally cheerful. If he comes across someone who is down, he'll want to cheer them up, to see them happy. But he has down moods and sad moments like everyone does, and usually needs his friends to help him out of these. His friends are incredibly important to him, but he also has the ability to make friends easily, to see almost anyone he meets instantly as one of his friends. Because of this, he's also eager to help even people he's just met. He's fairly good at reading people's emotions, often finding the right thing to say or do to help cheer them up. Sometimes completely by accident. He's more prone to trusting than being wary, asking questions out of curiosity rather than suspicion. Fairness is important to him, and he's likely to stick up for anyone he sees being treated unfairly, and protect anyone who can't readily protect themselves. He can also be sassy to those who are sassy to him.
His personality could be described as somewhat childlike. He follows his heart, his emotions. What he feels is what motivates him. He makes a good leader because he doesn't actively seek power or control over others and puts a lot of importance on fairness, but he's shown that he's more than okay with letting others take the lead as well. The prospect of being a leader is still exciting to him, though. He does what's needed of him... But if he can get away with a nap here and there, all the better! All in all, he doesn't take life or anything too seriously, and has a tendency to keep things light and fun as much as he can. Faced with serious questions or situations however, serious thought will be given. But on the whole, he's a sap and a goof, genuine and earnest, knows the importance of keeping promises, and keeps a nice individual space in his heart for everyone he's ever met.

Rockstar Persona: Sora as a brainwashed celebrity means an increase in laziness. He'll do whatever managers ask of him, but in between there will be a lot of loafing and lounging about. And sleeping. Which may in fact be his body's way of trying to put him back to normal, as sleep/dreams/memories all have a lot to do with one another in the Kingdom Hearts universe. (Please note I don't intend for that to work, at least not at first, he's not going to remember any dreams he has thanks to the programming/brainwashing.) This has the extra hilarious side-effect of Sora catnapping in ridiculous places. The laziness will also help keep him from being all up in everyone else's business trying to help (not so much that I won't be active with him, just enough to keep him brainwashed and not too curious about things). There may also be even more clingy-ness, a tendency to hang on people and be very affectionate. So long as that goes with the band's image.
As far as fake backstory goes, in order to keep him from having old friends he's attached to, it goes that he was a childhood star that traveled a lot, so wasn't able to keep friends. His parents cared more about the money he was making than about actually parenting, so he doesn't really stay in touch with them now either. There isn't a bitterness or hatred there, so much as a numbness. His probably won't talk about them. He transitioned to musician from actor recently because he was getting tired of pretending to be other people and wanted to just be himself (insert laugh track).
Because of memory loss and his fake backstory not including his real friends, his only connection initially is going to be to his instrument, whatever this ends up being (moreso if it's small and portable, less so probably if we're talking drums). He'll have a deep affection for it and be protective of it, so much so that any damage or loss of it (even someone hiding it from him) will be met with upset.
